I worked for seven years as a teacher in California before moving to Colorado in 2004. While I stayed home with my boys for twelve years, I remained involved in education by substituting at SkyView. Luckily, the job of Registrar became available while on a long-term assignment and I joined SkyView full-time in 2016. I enjoy reading, gardening, movies, remodeling and traveling in my spare time.

Early on, my career began in public PK-12 classrooms and the journey that followed included master teaching/training, charter school start-up, staff recruitment and school leadership. In all, I have worked to create 17 new public charter schools across the nation serving all grade levels. This work mirrors that of a small business and franchise entrepreneur and includes the recruitment and development of governing boards, foundations, and building corporations, as well as related advocacy efforts, financial planning, operations and facility acquisition/renovation. I received a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Human Development and Family Studies and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Early Childhood Special Education. Recently, I was awarded a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
On a personal note, I am a mother, daughter, sister, friend, colleague and advocate and enjoy Pilates, yoga, playing the piano, cooking and working in the community for local charities.

I am excited to be returning to the SVA community this year as the MTSS & Assessment Coordinator. I have twins in 2nd grade and am excited to bring my littlest one to Preschool this year to learn from this amazing staff. I have a background in leadership in manufacturing after earning my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Most recently I was teaching secondary mathematics and leading Response to Intervention programs at another K-12 Charter School after I pursued my childhood passion of becoming a teacher. I have a passion for working with students and helping them find success. When I'm not working with students and staff, you can find me staying busy with my family playing games, enjoying the outdoors, or at an extended family gathering.

¡Hola! I'm Sra. Johnson, and I get the pleasure of teaching Spanish 1B in the Middle School. I studied Spanish and Education at CU Boulder (Go Buffs), and this is my third year at SkyView. I could not be more excited to be part of this school and community. I love getting to spend my days practicing another language with students and learning about different cultures. You will also find me out on the field most day since I am the Middle School Cross Country and Track coach. In my free time, you will probably find me running in the mountains or trying out a new recipe. I love my job and am a proud SVA Hawks fan!

I joined the SkyView Academy team in the Summer of 2020 as the College & Career Counselor. I was eager to jump in and start advising students as Counseling and Guidance is my passion. I came to SkyView Academy after retiring from the University of New Mexico after 26 years of service. I earned my BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of New Mexico and earned my Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. My family and I then relocated to CO where I hold a Special Services Provider License.
Working as the College & Career Counselor at SkyView Academy has allowed me to help ALL SkyView students with their College exploration, career exploration, and helping them prepare for what is to come once they graduate and move on into the real world.
I am also the SkyView Academy Middle School Girls Volleyball A Team Coach so feel that I have a strong connection to SkyView and the students who attend SkyView Academy. I will continue to uphold the Vision and the Mission of SkyView Academy and the HS Leadership Team. I am honored and proud to be a part of the wonderful SkyView Academy community.
