I am thrilled to be joining the SkyView team this year as an ELD Instructor! Although I am originally from Colorado and grew up in Summit County and Buena Vista, I had to move away in elementary school. I have missed Colorado ever since. I went to college and graduate school in NYC for film and worked as a film editor for a few years before getting the opportunity to teach ESL in Japan. While there, I fell in love with teaching and upon returning to the States got my Master's degree in Education in NYC. I have been working as a special education teacher at an elementary school in Manhattan for several years before recently finding myself back in Colorado. I love camping, reading, cooking, and traveling, and am looking forward to being a part of the SVA community!

I have been a part of the SVA family since 2021 and absolutely love it here. I graduated summa cum laude from Northwest University, a small college outside of Seattle with my degree in Secondary Education and a double endorsement in Social Studies and Middle-Level Humanities, and hold a Colorado State Teaching License. I have worked with students all over Colorado, Washington State, and even Bulgaria and I am thrilled to be teaching in my home state, and the best state, Colorado. I believe learning about history makes you a better person and I absolutely love combining my passion for history and students into this role. This year I will be teaching 9th-grade advisement, Ancient Civilizations, and World History. Outside of school, you can probably find me at a coffee shop or treasure hunting with my metal detector.

Hello! My name is Paula Vann and I have been teaching Art at SkyView Academy since 2013. Previously I taught middle and high school in Denver. A couple of my favorite things about teaching art at the elementary level is being able to watch children grow and develop over the course of years and seeing children's creativity take flight as their skills are nurtured. When I am not in school, I enjoy photography, painting, reading, and walking my 1 year old lab. I have 4 grown daughters who all live in Denver and twin granddaughters!
