My name is Julie Schnell, and I have been teaching music and theatre for over 30 years. I have been happily married for 31 years and have three children who graduated from SkyView Academy. I love teaching students about music and theatre and love working at SkyView.

I owned my own company for 25 years, and worked for Paul Mitchell for 5 years as a warehouse manager/purchase agent. I love to camp, and hang out with my family. I love this job, it's a great family.

I graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2006. Following, I attended Northern State University and graduated in 2010 with my Bachelors of Science in Education with an emphasis in 7-12 grade social studies education. While completing my undergraduate work, I also played Division II women’s soccer. In 2011, my husband and I taught English overseas in South Korea, and we were also able to travel across Southeast Asia. Upon our return to the United States, I taught 7-12 grade social studies on the western slope at Paonia Junior/Senior High School for several years. I have been teaching at SkyView since 2014. Currently, I teach ninth-grade ancient world history and AP Psychology. I also serve as one of the high school Deans. I love spending time with my husband and two daughters, hiking, playing soccer, and listening to live music. Go, Hawks

My husband and I moved to beautiful Colorado 12 years ago from Texas, and we love it here. I have two amazing children, Ava and Duke, who also attend SVA. As a family, we love sports, hiking, SUP, and movies. We also have the cutest pup named Jack. He typically goes everywhere with us, even on the SUP. My passion is helping students grow in their learning and foster an environment they feel loved. This is my 7th year teaching and first year at SVA. I am so excited to join the SVA community!

I grew up in Kansas and received my teaching degree from Kansas State University. I taught at my old school in Kansas for my first year and then moved to Colorado with my husband for his job. I've taught grades 6-12. This is my 8th year teaching, and I'm currently working on my Master's degree in English education. I love playing video games, reading, music, K-State, and the Chiefs. We have two cats and occasionally venture out of our house to go tubing, kayaking, and skiing.

The greatest joys in my life are my husband of 32 years, our 16 year old daughter, my faith, and family and friends. I enjoy cooking, gardening, and watching movies.

This is my third year at SkyView and my third year in the history department (the best one) teaching World History, Ancient Civilizations, and Honors Ancient Civilizations. I also hold the incredibly important title of staff sponsor for the Swiftie club in the high school while helping out with the upper school plays and musicals.

I have been teaching at SVA since 2013 and am looking forward to continuing working with students and families in supporting the all-around growth of students through teaching history! I also look forward to continuing coaching with the high school soccer programs here at SVA as an assistant coach for the boy's program and head coach of the girl's program. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a specialization in Secondary Education, as well as played soccer for CCU. I am originally from Longmont, Colorado, and I love calling Colorado home while also enjoying traveling. I continue to play soccer and enjoy being in the mountains for many things but especially skiing.

I grew up in Albuquerque, NM, and moved to Indiana for college, but the end goal was always to move to the Denver area. My wife Sheila and I love living in Colorado. We spend our free time cheering on the local teams, enjoying as many concerts as we can fit in, and sitting on patios. I am very excited to be back at SVA. I love the community, spirit, and mission of SkyView. I look forward to the opportunity to teach technology courses in the middle and high schools. I also coach MS volleyball and basketball.

Although I was born in New York, I moved to Costa Rica when I was four years old and graduated from high school there. I am fluent in English and Spanish and am fairly proficient in Korean as well. I have two daughters who both attend SkyView, and we love being a SkyView family. I began substitute teaching at SkyView in 2020 and have been in several different classrooms, but the subject I most enjoy teaching is Spanish. I have experienced firsthand the advantages and opportunities that come with speaking another language and hope to impart to the students my enthusiasm for Spanish and the joy of learning about other cultures and countries.

Hello! My name is Paula Vann, and I have been teaching Art at SkyView Academy since 2013. Previously I taught middle and high school in Denver. A couple of my favorite things about teaching art at the elementary level are being able to watch children grow and develop over the course of years and seeing children's creativity take flight as their skills are nurtured. When I am not in school, I enjoy photography, travel, painting, reading, and walking my dog. I have 4 grown daughters who all live in Denver and twin granddaughters!
