Academic Recognition Programs

SkyView Academy's Second Annual Academic Letter Presentation took place on March 1, 2023. Thirty-three (33) students were recognized with their First Year Academic Letter. Thirty-eight (38) students were recognized with their Second Year Academic Star Pin. Twenty (20) Teachers, Coaches, and Staff Members were also recognized for being an influence on the recipient's Academic Career. Congratulations to all who were honored!

SkyView Academy High School Administration discussed how better to reward Academic Excellence among students at SkyView Academy and two (2) NEW Academic Recognition Programs were created and approved in Fall of 2020. The Academic Honor Roll Recognition Program will be implemented in the Spring of 2021, while the Academic Letter Recognition Program will be implemented in the 2021-2022 academic year.

1.  Academic Honor Roll Recognition Program Criteria

The criteria for achieving a Gold, Blue and Green Honor Roll, an SVA student must have achieved the grade point average outlined below. Students must achieve this while attending SkyView Academy High School. 

Gold Honor Roll: 4.0 or higher (Highest Academic Honors)

Blue Honor Roll: 3.99-3.75 (High Academic Honors)

Green Honor Roll: 3.7499-3.5 (Academic Honors)

The SVA Honor Roll Recognition Ceremonies will be held each Fall and Spring Semester. Program will be implemented in Fall 2020 and the first group of students recognized will be in the Spring of 2021.

2.  Academic Letter Recognition Program Criteria

The criteria for achieving an Academic Letter, an SVA student must have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or better for three consecutive semesters while attending SkyView Academy High School.

In Fall 2023 a Second Year (STAR) and in Fall 2024 a Third Year (Medallion) Letter Awards will be added for students with five and seven consecutive semesters of a grade point average of 3.5 and above.

First Year Academic Award Recipients; Will receive an Academic Letter: Maintain a 3.5 or better GPA for 3 consecutive semesters
Second Year Academic Award Recipients; Will receive a STAR Pin: Maintain a 3.5 or better GPA for 5 consecutive semesters
Third Year Academic Award Recipient; Will receive a Medallion that can be worn at Graduation: Maintain a 3.5 or better GPA for 7 consecutive semesters

The SVA Academic Letter Recognition Ceremony will take place in the Spring of each academic year and will only take place once a year. Program will be implemented in 2020-2021 and the first group of students will be recognized in Spring of 2022.

• Program Created in Fall 2020 and Program Implemented in Fall 2021.
• The First Academic Letter Award Ceremony will be held Spring 2022.
• For the First Academic Award Ceremony (Spring 2022) 12th graders (Class of 2022) that qualify will receive an Academic Letter.
• We will review Semester Grades starting with the Fall of 2020 going forward.
• STAR and Medallion Awards will be awarded once the 5 & 7 consecutive semester criteria is achieved, starting with Class of 2023 who can qualify for the STAR and Class of 2024 who can qualify for the Medallion.
