This is my first year as the Latin and Logic teacher at SkyView, and I'm excited to be here! I'm originally from Boise, ID, and I moved to Colorado in 2022. Before coming to SkyView, I taught intro and intermediate Latin as a graduate student instructor at CU Boulder.
Fun Fact: I love both science and the ocean and in another life, I think I could have become a marine biologist.

I am a Colorado native born in Pueblo, Colorado, and raised in Greeley. I graduated from Windsor High School in 1986 and completed university at Baylor in Waco, TX. I have three grown children and a new son-in-law with my husband of 33 years.
Family and Consumer Science led me into the field of education. I have taught all ages K-12, but landing in 4th grade has been the sweet spot for me.
I love to make things with my hands. I also enjoy designing with color, whether it be sewing, gardening, choosing makeup, selecting interior elements, or crafting projects. Creativity is not free-reign but making calculated choices within a parameter. The best part of teaching is developing relationships with "my" kids and helping them grow emotionally, socially, and academically.

It is an honor to have the opportunity to work with the Leadership team at SVA. I began working at SVA as the Assessment Coordinator, then moved into the Assistant Principal role, and now I am the Lower School Principal. I graduated from Southern Illinois University after having two children, Nicolas and Jenna and then moved out to Colorado. For the past 20 years I have been working at charter schools in the South Metro area, mostly as an Elementary Teacher serving students in grades 3-5, as well as being a literacy specialist for a few years. I believe in the vision and mission here at SkyView and look forward to working with the amazing staff here. I spend my free time with my adult children and granddaughters, traveling to college football games, and hiking and camping during the summer.

I am a Colorado native. After graduating high school, I moved to Wichita, KS, and received my degree in Secondary History and Government Education with a minor in Political Science. I moved back home and received my MA in Learning, specializing in ELL, from CSU Global. I am a huge Colorado Avalanche fan with season tickets! I love concerts and musicals and will always be going to them as long as I can. I am very excited to start my time at SVA.

I am the Payroll and Benefits Manager and have been at SkyView for 11 years. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix and have experience in Corporate, Public, and Tax Accounting. I have two wonderful grown boys, and in my spare time, I enjoy running, playing tennis, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

Hello! My name is Erin Hoff, and this is my first year at SkyView Academy. I am very excited to be able to join this awesome community. I have lived in Colorado my whole life and am proud to call this state home. My husband (an electrical engineer) and I love to take time traveling and hiking in the beautiful outdoors here. Our family rounds out with our equally round black cat named Tank, who also enjoys the outdoors, but mostly for watching birds. I am passionate about teaching and love to encourage students to experience science in our everyday lives.

Mi nombre es Cynthia Hurtado-Cox and I'm excited to be back at SVA! I can’t wait to meet your elementary school children and work with them as they acquire the Spanish language! This year will mark my 12th year at SVA, and 16th year of teaching altogether.
I am originally from Mexico City. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver and started my teaching career as a homeroom teacher in Aurora Public Schools. I later earned my endorsement in Spanish, and I taught Spanish here at SVA for five years. I am grateful to SVA for giving me the opportunity to share the Spanish language with my students once again!
I will be teaching Spanish to our first graders this year! I will be posting our Spanish class information such as learning units, vocabulary, videos and other resources for students to practice the Spanish language at home. The posts can be found in Google Classroom as well as in school emails I will be sending throughout the year to first grade families.
Some of my goals for my students are to build a strong community, collaborate with one another, and ultimately become global citizens. A global citizen is someone who is aware and understands the wider world and embraces other cultures and languages!
