The SkyView Academy Board of Directors governs the school in accordance with the school’s bylaws and provides high level oversight. The Board sets policy in order to support and maintain the school’s mission, vision, strategic plan and educational philosophy and leaves the day-to-day management of the school to the Head of Schools, Head of Operations and administrative team. It designates standing committees consisting of finance, governance and the school academic advisory committee (SAAC) to help ensure the school stays viable and committed to its mission and vision.

Chris was born and raised in Southern California. After spending two years in Venezuela on a church mission, he earned a degree in Spanish at the University of Utah. An entrepreneur at heart, he was involved in various start-ups early on. He has been with People Element for the last 15 years helping companies meet their employee engagement and retention goals.
Prior to joining the SkyView Academy Board, Chris served on the Mountain Vista High School SAC committee for the last two years. Working with youth is one of his passions. He has been involved with youth programs through church and The Boy Scouts of America his entire life. He and his wife Jenni lived in Utah and Arizona before settling 15 years ago in the best place they’ve lived, Colorado. They have a daughter who is a Junior at Brigham Young University, a Freshman daughter at Colorado Christian University and a Sophomore son at SkyView.
As an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I realized my passion for helping young people grow, mature, and develop. Because of this passion, I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education. After teaching Kindergarten and First Grade, I later attended Wake Forest University and earned an MBA in finance. This unique blend of teaching and business education will allow me to add a valuable perspective to the Board of Directors.
On a personal note, I am the proud father of three boys who have all attended SkyView Academy since kindergarten. My wife, Kristi, and I have supported SVA in various roles for the past 12 years. Professionally, I am Director of Strategic Sourcing at an SAP 500 real estate company. After obtaining my MBA from Wake Forrest, I spent the majority of my career at IBM in finance before transitioning to my current role.
Growing up, I moved quite a bit, attending eight different schools from kindergarten to my senior year in high school. My experience in attending many different schools has helped me to identify and appreciate a truly special institution like SkyView. I understand that SkyView isn’t perfect, but it has a culture that has enabled our children to thrive in elementary, middle, and high school. I want to support the administration, staff, and teachers, providing them with the tools they need to best care for students at SkyView Academy.
