I am Ms. Stacey, one of the elementary school counselors here at SkyView. I am excited to announce that Lucky, my certified mini-Goldendoodle therapy dog, will be returning to SVA next week. Lucky is certified with Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado and she joins me at school twice a week to provide animal-assisted therapy.
Lucky is hypoallergenic and does not shed. She comes from a family of therapy dogs in Indiana and has a wonderful temperament. Everyone adores her, and she fits right in. I've let the students know that Lucky loves cuddles and tummy rubs, but we need to follow some rules, as Lucky has feelings, too.
I truly believe that Lucky is an asset to SkyView. Lucky will be back at school with me on Wednesday, September 4. Please reach out to me if you have any questions before her return.
Thank you,
Ms. Stacey
Please sign this form only if you DO NOT want your student to interact with Lucky. (If you are okay with your student interacting with Lucky, you do not need to complete this form).
SkyView is excited to announce our 1st Author Visit of this school year! Rob Harrell, the author of Popcorn, will be visiting on September 10th at 8:45. Popcorn is about Andrew who is having one heck of a bad Picture Day - and his anxiety and OCD aren't helping. As things go from bad to worse, he'll have to lean on friends, teachers, and his coping skills to survive to the final bell! Full of humor and real-life anxiety advice, this one is a must during our anxious times!
Books will be available for sale - please fill out the form and return it to Mrs. Lilly in the Elementary Library. 4th, 5th, and selected middle school classes will be attending.
Here are SVA's first-semester formal uniform dates. Please mark your calendar and set up reminders.

I hope this message finds you well! I am excited to announce that we will launch a No-Tech November initiative for our students starting tomorrow, November 1. The goal of this initiative is to encourage our children to engage in non-digital activities, focus on creativity, foster meaningful connections, and explore the world around them without the distractions of technology.
During No-Tech November, we encourage students to participate in activities such as reading books, playing board games, creating art, spending time outdoors, and enjoying family time. We hope that by reducing screen time, students will gain new skills, develop their imagination, and strengthen their relationships with family and friends.
We understand that technology is an integral part of our daily lives, and it has its place in education. However, this initiative aims to provide a balanced approach and to emphasize the importance of face-to-face interactions and hands-on experiences.
We ask for your support in encouraging participation at home. Engaging in conversations about the benefits of spending time without screens can help reinforce these values. Click the image below for the challenge calendar. Each day on the calendar suggests an activity that does not involve devices. Students do not need to do that activity. They can participate in any activity of their choosing, technology-free. Parents, your job is to initial the days your student is technology-free at home. Students must turn in their calendars to their homeroom teacher with their name on it by Tuesday, December 3 to earn a Dress of Choice pass if they were technology-free for at least 25 days in November. Please send me pictures of all of the fun activities your student is doing tech-free.
Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make this November a month filled with creativity and connection!
Have a wonderful rest of your day,
Paula Harrison
