The benefits of a multisport athlete, along with the idea in general, appear to be something of the past when looking at the competitive environment of sports today and an athlete’s perceived need to specialize in one sport in order to excel. I believe that’s not necessarily the case when analyzing the benefits one gets from playing multiple sports as an athlete grows and develops.
After a mind-blowing season, full of perpetual wins, and a League Championship under their belt, fans would never guess that the SkyView Academy Boys Golf season started off on a more apprehensive note. The SkyView Hawks, Mile High League Golf Champions, are hitting nice drives and sinking birdies.
Meyer taught that humility was the belief that, “you aren’t better than anyone, but you are just as good as anyone.” This mentality not only builds confidence in those that are unsure of themselves but also helps build an attitude dedicated to servant-leadership. We are grateful to be able to endeavor in this process with your students and pass along these valuable lessons and teachable moments.
