SkyView Academy’s leadership team consists of dedicated people who excel in their areas of expertise, are dedicated to our vision and mission and model a culture of expectation and support while supporting students and staff in their drive to do and be their best.
Rich Barrett, Executive Director
It is a true honor and privilege to serve the students, staff and families of SkyView. Children and education are my passions, and I love supporting our school leaders in the incredible work they do with their staff to provide our students the best education possible while living our vision and mission. A native of Connecticut, I received my B. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. I then went on to become a member of the Teach For America Corp as a 5th grade teacher and also worked at the KIPP Academy in Houston. I moved to Colorado in 2001 when I founded the KIPP Colorado Schools and served as the school leader for eight years before moving on to Pioneer Charter School as the School Director. I believe every child can learn and support the “no shortcuts and no excuses” philosophy. As a driven educator I am dedicated to seeing all students at SkyView to go to and through college. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my wife, son and our dog Atticus, a Siberian husky. I enjoy hiking and playing tennis and golf, and am completely dedicated to the UConn Huskies ladies basketball team. My favorite days of the year are Thanksgiving Day and Opening Day at Coors Field where I watch the Rockies race for the pennant each spring.
Jon Ail, High School Principal
I am honored to be part of SkyView and have the opportunity to work with our amazing leadership team, Board, staff and families to serve our students. Originally from Philadelphia, PA I love the Eagles, the Flyers, cheesesteaks, and the movie Rocky. After graduating from Bloomsburg University of PA with a BA in Mathematics and completing coursework for a degree in education I was hired by a private school before completing my student teaching. I went on to earn my Professional Teaching License through Fort Hays State University in Kansas, and have also attended seminary where earning a MA in Management and Leadership. I completed the principal licensure program through the University of Colorado Denver and am currently working toward my Doctor of Education (EdD) in Executive Leadership and Policy. My background in education includes teaching at private, charter, and public schools across middle school, high school, college, and even GED math at an adult learning center. I’ve worked with very diverse student populations, coached a variety of sports, and had the privilege to work at one of the top 100 charter schools in the country. My free time is spent with my amazing wife, Tara, and my incredible son, Corbin along with mountain climbing, hunting, sports, reading/studying, and enjoying yard-work (believe it or not).
Janet Worley, Middle School Principal
John C. Maxwell said, “Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I subscribe to this claim completely. Further, I believe and fully support the vision and mission of SkyView. During my time at SkyView, I have had the privilege of investing in the lives of our students and families in a tangible way. I serve the community alongside some of the most amazing educators in the field, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the SkyView community in the role of middle school principal. My educational journey led me to SkyView in 2013. I graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1992, then went on to attend Bethany College in Scotts Valley, California in 1994 where I completed graduate school for Curriculum and Instruction. Before moving to Colorado with my husband Paul, whom I have known since elementary school, I taught middle school English for five years. I taught in Colorado for five years before deciding to stay home for a few years with my two beautiful children, Maddy and Hunter. Maddy committed to Northern Arizona University on early decision in September 2015 and is enrolled in honors college and intends to double major in Criminology and Photography. Hunter continues to pursue his passions of sports broadcasting and baseball.
Jeri Bisbee, Elementary School Principal
I am thrilled to be serving the students, staff and families of SkyView Academy as Elementary Principal and am thankful for the opportunity to serve our students, staff and families in developing lifelong learners and honorable leaders. My heart and passion for quality instruction and my background in serving the charter school community in Colorado for the past 15 years in a variety of settings makes calling SkyView “home” a true joy. My education degrees include a BS in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and a M.Ed in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. My diverse background in education includes working as a former Core Knowledge classroom teacher, Core Knowledge trainer/facilitator, Administrator, Board Member and supporter of charter schools around the state at the Colorado Department of Education. I love exploring the great outdoors of Colorado and all of the fun that each season brings. I have 2 grown sons and a beautiful “daughter-in-love” and a little, furry canine named Vinnie.
Danielle Brown, Preschool Director
Originally from Denver, I am thrilled to be able to work with the staff who have the privilege of being part of our youngest learners entry into becoming life-long learners and honorable leaders at SkyView. I graduated from Colorado State University where my studies in Human Development and Family Studies with an Emphasis in Early Childhood Education led me to SkyView. I have also completed my Master’s in Early Childhood Education at the University of Colorado Denver. Being from Colorado, I have always had a love and joy for the outdoors and held a special place in my heart for the Rocky Mountains, enjoying all the beauty it has to offer with my family and friends. This love for the outdoors is a close second for my ultimate passion, which is working with children. The opportunities I have had in classroom settings have taught me to value each student for the individuals they are by getting to know them on an academic and personal level. I will always be working for each of my students to be successful and grow to their fullest potential and abilities through developmentally appropriate practices.
